Fat Piggy Cycles – Fat Eddy!

Fat Piggy Cycles – Fat Eddy!

Fat Piggy Cycles
Most older mountain bikers know Fat Chance Bicycles. Set up by Chris Chance, Fat Chance mountain bikes belonged to the best bikes one could buy in the 1980s and early 90s. Well – the Fat Eddy is not exactly a Fat Chance bike. It’s a homage, made by an enthusiast. “Madone” built this bike starting with a rather affordable Chinese carbon fat bike frame.

Dengfu FM198 carbon fat bike frame
Madone startet with a Dengfu FM198 frame, bought on alibaba.com. The frame doesn’t look bad, and i’ts not too heavy. However, initially the bearings didn’t fit into the headtube, so it needed some touch-up. Frame weight: 1470g (3.84 lbs) fork: 540g (1.19 lbs).

That’s a pretty awsome and unique bike! And at 12.3 Kg (27.1 lbs), it weights less than some top-of-the-line fat bikes. Congrat’s, Madone! And thanks for the pictures!!!

So finally, there’s only one thing left to say: Fat Chance is back!
